Positano
Positano is a small town located in one of the most beautiful valleys of the Amalfi Coast. It was a port of the Amalfi Republic in medieval times, and prospered in the 16th and 17th centuries. One of the characteristic features of Positano is the architecture of the houses, cubes painted white, pink, orange, almost all with a small porch in front some with a spherical dome. The majolica tiled dome of the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria Assunta can be seen from every corner of the town. A Byzantine inspired Icon of a black Madonna, dating back to the 18th century, is conserved inside the church. Walking around the pathways, or up the winding stairs of Positano is a very pleasant experience, amazing views await you around every corner.
